– Jag kommer att presentera en studie som utforskar kliniska kluster i en slutenvårdsgeriatrisk svensk population, baserat på diagnoser och andra hälsovariabler. Forskningen är viktig för att belysa några av de kliniska och metodologiska utmaningarna med att identifiera undergrupper i denna population, säger SWEAH:s doktorand Rosalind Pfaff vid Karolinska Institutet.
Hon ser fram emot att delta i paneldiskussionen för doktorander och nyblivna forskare och träffa andra med liknande forskningsintressen.
– Jag ser verkligen fram emot konferensen. Det finns så många intressanta sessioner och presentationer att välja på och det blir intressant att lära sig mer om åldrandeforskning i andra länder, kontexter och discipliner.
SWEAH-alumnen Maria Glans, PhD, Högskolan Kristianstad har två abstracts godkända för posterpresentation, om hälsa, välbefinnande och läkemedelsanvändning hos äldre som bor ensamma.
– Jag har haft en hektisk vårtermin, men jag hoppas hinna ikapp i tid till konferensen. Jag har rådgjort med mina medförfattare under hela skrivandet, en av dem planerar att introducera mig för några intressanta forskare ute i Europa, säger hon och hoppas hitta en forskargrupp som är intresserad av att ha med henne som forskare i ett finansierat projekt.
SWEAH har också ett eget symposium om interdisciplinaritet inom doktorandutbildning, där det ges exempel från Sveriges nationella forskarskola inom åldrande och hälsa, lett av SWEAH:s studiekoordinator Steven Schmidt och alumnen Ana Luiza Dallora Moraes samt fyra erfarna SWEAH-doktorander som panelmedlemmar; Karin Högstedt, Helén Dellkvist, Linnéa Körlof och Sandra Lukic. SWEAH:s koordinator Susanne Iwarsson pratar om komplexa processer i senare livet, flytt och aktivt åldrande.
