– I will be presenting a study that explores clinical clusters in an inpatient geriatric Swedish population based on diagnoses and other health variables. The research is important for highlighting some of the clinical and methodological challenges of identifying subgroups in this population, says SWEAH PhD student Rosalind Pfaff, Karolinska Institutet.
She is excited to attend the Student & Early Career Researcher panel discussion and meet other PhD students with similar research interests.
– I’m really looking forward to the conference. There are so many interesting sessions and presentations to choose from and it will be interesting to learn more about ageing research in other countries, contexts and disciplines.
SWEAH alumna Maria Glans, PhD, Kristianstad University has two abstracts accepted for poster presentation, about health, well-being and medication use in older adults living alone.
– I have had a busy spring semester, but I am hoping to catch up in time for the conference. I have had my co-authors to confer with throughout writing the abstract and putting together the poster. One of my co-authors will introduce me to some interesting researchers from around Europe, she says, hoping to find a research group interested in including her as a researcher in a funded project.
SWEAH also has an own symposium called ‘Interdisciplinarity in doctoral education: Examples from the Swedish National Graduate School on Ageing and Health’, lead by study coordinator Steven Schmidt and alumna Ana Luiza Dallora Moraes, with four experienced SWEAH PhD students as panel members; Karin Högstedt, Helén Dellkvist, Linnéa Körlof and Sandra Lukic. SWEAH's coordinator Susanne Iwarsson talks about the complex processes in later life, relocation and active ageing.
