The course starts 2023-03-09
The Swedish National Graduate School on Ageing and Health (SWEAH) invites PhD students affiliated to SWEAH to apply for the course Gerontology – multidisciplinary and integrative perspectives on aging.
The course consists of two sub-courses:
1. Perspectives on aging
2. Implementation in own research (optional)
The first sub-course (Perspectives on aging, 3 credits) presents current research in biological, medical, physiological, psychological, social, and cultural gerontology. Overview lectures on these topics are offered to demonstrate how various scientific perspectives are reflected in research questions and in current knowledge on aging and health. The content is intended to provide a platform for reflections on multidisciplinary and integrative perspectives on aging, including shared and unique theoretical and methodological approaches in various disciplines.
In the second sub-course (Implementation in own research, 2 credits) doctoral candidates should analyze the position of their own dissertation projects within the multidisciplinary gerontology, evaluate the scientific qualities and multidisciplinary and integrative conditions in own and others dissertation projects.
