SWEAH conference in Stockholm November 10-11, 2026

The national graduate school SWEAH is once again organizing an interdisciplinary conference – this time the theme is: "Exchange of Insights: Connecting Research on Ageing and Health with Societal Needs".

Researchers in ageing and health at SWEAH's partner universities are invited to submit abstracts.

Call for abstracts published: April 6
Deadline for abstract submission: May 8
Acceptance notifications and preliminary program announcement: June 19

Registration period: June 19 – October 2

A scientific conference on ageing and health, hosted by the Swedish National Graduate School on Ageing and Health in collaboration with thirteen partner universities.

The mission of SWEAH is to sharpen the skills of SWEAH's doctoral students and develop efficient and creative cooperation among Swedish higher institutions and relevant national and international partners. 

Target group

The conference is aimed at SWEAH PhD students, alumni and supervisors and those engaged in research on ageing and health at SWEAH’s partner universities, not limited to researchers affiliated with SWEAH. Also representatives from possible new partners are welcome.

Parts of the program will be open to local stakeholders such as politicians, municipality representatives, senior citizens’ associations and others interested in research on ageing and health. 

If you work, for example, within the Swedish Local Authorities and Regions, SKR, the Swedish Public Health Agency, the National Board of Health and Welfare, or at the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Health, this is really the conference for you. 

Contributions from stakeholders

Stakeholders can participate in the conference in several ways, either contributing with their own experiences through: 

  • Short lectures (Swedish or English, about 5–7 minutes) on knowledge needs, challenges or recommendations for collaboration
  • Panel discussions with doctoral students, researchers and other societal actors
  • Stands with space for brochures/posters about your business
