In January, as usual, the management organized an introductory meeting, this time on site at Lund University. What a privilege it is to listen to presentations of new, interesting and important doctoral projects that are under development! The eighteen PhD students who have now joined SWEAH come from different partner universities, have different subject backgrounds and areas of interest and are therefore a valuable addition to the research school's breadth in terms of the research area of aging and health.
In this newsletter, we can also read about PhD students who have successfully defended their theses and obtained their doctorate. It is with pride that I also note that doctoral students who have been connected to SWEAH during their education are successful and early in their academic career receive large research grants in strong competition - this time we can read about two more SWEAH alumni who are now leading their own research projects.
