It is now decided who will take over the management of the graduate school when SWEAH's current coordinator Susanne Iwarsson retires in a year. It will be Lund University's Pro Vice-Chancellor Jimmie Kristensson, and he has already started as an assistant coordinator part-time.

– The question of the future management of the graduate school is an important, critical point that was raised in the evaluation of SWEAH that was carried out in 2025. We now have a very good solution, with 2026 as a period for transferring responsibility as coordinator from me to Jimmie Kristensson. I would like to wish him a warm welcome to the management of SWEAH, says Susanne Iwarsson.

Kristensson lives in Lund and has three soon-to-be-grown children, he is a registered nurse, university lecturer, associate professor in nursing science and has, among other things, been program manager for the nursing program. He leads a research group with a focus on proactive and integrated care.

What will you be able to contribute to SWEAH?

– It is really the needs of the business that determine it. I hope to be able to contribute knowledge and experience. I have extensive experience in management assignments and am well-established in both research, education and postgraduate education, says Jimmie Kristensson.

What do you think is important to develop in SWEAH?

– SWEAH is in many ways an exceptionally well-functioning environment. It is difficult to say what needs to be developed before I have learned the business and met the people in it. Development is best done in collaboration. But, if you are to know my pulse, I think it will be difficult in the future not to address AI.

What is the next step for you now?

– I will be introduced gradually and initially the focus will be on creating an understanding of SWEAH, getting to know the people and participating in the work that is going on. I am really looking forward to it.

Jimmie Kristensson has been Vice Dean with responsibility for staffing and ethics at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University. He will continue in his role as Pro Vice-Chancellor of Lund University, where his areas of responsibility include ethics, academic freedom, work environment, gender equality, leadership and student life issues. He leads, among other things, the university-wide gender equality and equal opportunities work.
